How
big is your god?

Have
you ever thought about your Creator, the one who formed
you from your mother's womb?
God's
Word says: "All things were made by Him and that
all things consist by Him," (Colossians 1:16-17).
God
also says in these last days, He has spoken to us by His
Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, by whom also
He made the world (Hebrews 1:2). The Lord Jesus not only
formed the earth and all life that exists on it, but He
has also spoken the worlds and the universe beyond into
existence by the word of His power. He knows each of the
stars by name (Psalms 147:4). It is remarkable to think
if the earth were to move a couple of inches farther or
closer to the sun, we would either burn up or freeze completely.
With
regards to you, there is not a word from your mouth that
Creator does not already know you will say (Psalm 139:4).
Nothing is hidden from Him.
This
mighty and awesome God is a caring God. He has a direct,
intense, personal interest in you.
Sadly,
we as humans tend to put God in a box. For some reason,
we have dictated in our minds what He can or can't do.
The human heart is wicked and naturally does not want
to be accountable to anyone for sin, let alone the Almighty
God. God's Word cannot be bound, therefore neither can
He (Second Timothy 2:9). He is totally sovereign, which
means He does what He chooses, yet all that He does is
right. He truly is a BIG GOD!
Sixteen
years ago, God saved me from the power of sin in my life.
Sin controlled me; it was a daily habit and had piled
up continually after many years. A proud thought, a lie,
the fact I hadn't believed in Christ alone as my Savior,
plus thousands of other sins all deserved the condemnation
of God.
Thank
the Lord God desires to deliver boys and girls, men and
women from the power of sin and the eternal punishment
it deserves. He is a God of love!
He
promises forgiveness and eternal life to anyone who will
simply trust Christ alone for salvation. God says He will
bury your sins and mine in the depths of the sea and separate
them as far as the east is from the west, if you would
let Him (Micah 7:19, Psalm 63:12). He can save you because
He is God!
Are
you going to put Him in a box? The Bible says God has
told us these things so we may know that we have eternal
life (First John 5:12-13). He will not clean your slate
unless you are willing to admit your need and let go of
pride and good works (Second Peter 3:9).
He
is a just God and requires payment for sin. Christ paid
for your sins! The Lord Jesus completely absorbed God's
wrath for your sin on the cross. Do you believe it? Or
will you choose to pay for your own sins? (It would take
all of eternity in a terrible place.)
I
hope you will not choose to limit God and face Him with
your guilt when this life is over. Listen to these wonderful
words and claim them for yourself. They come from a big
and powerful God!
"All
who come to me, I will in no wise cast out (John 6:37)."
"Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the
earth: for I am God, and there is none else," (Isaiah
45:22).
